Purpose of a Pep Rally
A pep rally is when people gather, typically students of middle school, high school and college age, before a sports event, for the purpose of encouraging school spirit and to support members of the team for which the rally is being thrown. Pep rallies are usually led by the cheerleaders, who promote team spirit with chants and dance moves to get the student body involved in supporting the team.
Other Parts of a Pep Rally
The school’s band will often play upbeat music between demonstrations, and depending on your school, the drum line might play. Pep rallies are usually held in the gymnasium of the school or outside on the baseball field. Having good school spirit can help give a student focus and a drive to succeed. Pep rallies really help with this because it is led by the students for the students.
