Tips to Help You with Bow & Arrows

Here are some stretching tips you can do at home to help you with your bow and arrows. Make sure you have some flexibility and always stretch before attempting a bow and arrow!

Step-by-Step Guide

Assuming you are pulling your bow and arrow with your left leg:

Side Stretch

  • Start with your left leg forward.
  • Lean down and forward towards your left leg and stretch.
  • Hold the stretch for 30 seconds and release. Repeat 2-3 times.

Laying Back Stretch

  • Lay on your back.
  • Keep your right leg down and pull your left leg up for the bow and arrow.
  • Grab your left foot with your right hand and pull your left arm through, hitting a half T motion.
  • Try to keep your right leg straight as it may want to bend and come off the ground.

Spotter Assistance

  • Stand up and grab a spotter (a friend or family member).
  • Have your spotter place their right hand on your right hip and their left hand out to the left side in preparation to catch your left leg as you pull it.
  • Pull your left leg up to a bow and arrow position.
  • Have your spotter immediately place their left hand on your left calf and help you pull your leg up.
  • Ensure your spotter is applying resistance on your right hip to prevent you from falling.
  • Grab your left foot with your right hand and push your left arm through.

Practice it Yourself

  • Stand with your feet together.
  • Practice pulling your bow and arrow.
  • Focus on grabbing your leg and foot quickly while maintaining your balance.
